Spring 2026 Field Season
The famous 6,000+ year old footprints of Acahualinca in downtown Managua were first reported by Earl Flint, a US doctor, in the 1880s. In 2023, a team led by archaeologist Hector Neff was able to determine two dates from below the footprints and one from above which together indicate an age of greater than 6000 years.
